If you've never overnight hiked before, this activity is just for you.
We'll provide ALL the gear - your own tent / sleeping bag / sleeping mat, crockery and cutlery- even raingear if you don't have it. You just bring clothes and food. We'll provide easy meal guidance, as well.
We'll take you on your very first overnight hike and camp. (An small equipment list will be provided on sign-up).
The hike-in and out to our campsite is on moderate trails with one short but steep section (for about 300 metres), and around 6 klms in distance (one way). A moderate fitness level is required.
You'll learn: Camp etiquette, how to pick a camp site, campfire lighting 101*, camp cooking, camp hygiene, how to sleep soundly in the bush, how to properly pack a backpack, as well as hiking safety and hiking basics.
If time permits, we'll also cover basic compass use and an introduction to maps.
Our site has a historic hut, tank water and a long-drop toilet. While we won't be sleeping in the hut, we can use it in the evening for a campfire, marshmallows and cooking under cover.
This is an overnight course starting at 09:00 am and finishing at 14:00 on the following day. Run on weekends and during the week. We need a minimum of two participants to go ahead.
Course fee: $210 per person. All gear is provided (our gear is modern, lighweight and high quality)

A six hour course covering the basics of wilderness navigation, using a topographical map and compass.
We'll cover:
This course is suitable for complete beginner navigators, those who do social and recreational bushwalking on formed tracks, and want the comfort of being able to re-orient themselves, if they need to.
Course fee: $59 per person, includes use of map and compass. Compasses available to purchase.
A comprehensive introduction to bush safety for all outdoors women. Beginner and experienced alike, this course will help give you greater confidence and skills to safely get outdoors.

Shelter. It's one of the most critical survival elements.
We'll show you how to tie six different knots, put up five different tarp configurations, including how to make an emergency shelter as well as teaching you about outdoor fabrics, understanding rope material, size and construction.
We also look at ridgeline hardware for those who don't want to remember outdoor knots.
3.5 hour course - $65 per person
We'll do a hands-on look at and review of many different commercial emergency survival kits that are available on the market.
You'll see what works, what is rubbish and not to waste your money on, and how to make your own ultralight Emergency Survival Kit using common (and low cost) things around your home.

This is our most comprehensive survival skills experience
There's no cammo or mainsplaining here. We take a pragmatic approach to surival, based on lost person psychology, Search & Rescue statistics and practice and what will maximise your rescue chances.
We'll cover:
This course includes three nights and two days of bush camping - you'll have the opportunity to sleep in your emergency bush shelter (if you choose), or we can provide comfortable and modern camping gear.
You'll have fun trying out gear and kit, learning new skills and meet other, like-minded outdoor women. BYO food, wine and campfire chocolate!
